Abstract :
In the paper we study several strategies for call admission and routing of multi-point connections. They are based on the reward maximization approach, the inverse of available link capacity metric, and the least loaded path concept, respectively. The important features of these strategies are illustrated by a numerical study which covers point-to-many, many-to-many and dynamic connections. The study indicates that in a multi-point connection environment there is a strong need for a tool enabling efficient control of GoS allocation among different services and connection categories. This capability is required to provide fair access for connections with very different resource consumption and to provide priorities for existing connection extensions
