Abstract :
The magnetic field in the actuator of giant magnetostrictive linear motor is analysed with finite element method using Ansoft. As a result, the domain of drive current which meets the design requirements can be obtained and the linear working domain of the magnetostrictive actuator can be effectively estimated, giving theoretically good guides for the coil and the structure design of the GMM actuator, drive circuit design of the GMM motor, and the following experiments. Then the rightness of FEA by Ansoft is proved by experiments on the GMM actuator and the GMM motor.
