Abstract
As Modern Service Industry (MSI) improves with economic restructuring in China, emerging user-central applications bring enormous challenges to current communication networks characterized with heterogeneity. In this paper, an advanced mobility management architecture with three main function modules in the next generation heterogeneous network (NGHN), is presented to support personal mobility and seamless service continuity across disparate access technologies. Intelligent selection module is mainly considered in this paper, and a network selection algorithm is proposed for optimal service delivery over consumer devices capable of heterogeneous access networks, when the user has a choice between multiple service delivery networks. The simulation results show that different networks can be chosen for all different services with service requirements and user demands. The network selection results are shown to meet the optimization objectives of the decision maker to support seamless mobility and optimal network access in NGHN.
