Abstract :
A novel cavity-backed slot antenna design is proposed in this work. The antenna comprises a linear slot and a cavity formed by two closely spaced metal plates and an end plate. In order to reduce the form factor, the cavity is bended into a folding configuration. The principle application of the proposed antenna is for reception of digital video broadcasting (DVB) signal in an automotive environment. The antenna can be conformally mounted or integrated within the vehicle chassis and hence constitutes an attractive option for automotive antennas
