Abstract
In this paper, 1-plus-2D and 2-plus-D converters, derived from KY converter, are presented based on the same structure but different pulse-width-modulation (PWM) control strategies. Since the KY converter is a non-isolated voltage-boosting converter with buck-type behavior, 1-plus-2D and 2-plus-D converters also possess fast transient load responses. Above all, the difference between the KY converter and its derivatives is that the latter possess higher output voltages than the former under the same duty cycle. The detailed illustration of these proposed converters, derived from the KY converter, is presented along with some experimental results.
