Abstract :
Signal cables and ground plane structure have many applications in electronic systems. The existence of parasitical parameters, such as the coupling inductances and coupling capacitances, make the impedance observing at the port resonant at certain frequency and far from the normal value. Adding decoupling capacitances can improve the situation. Partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method is used to partition the model of signal cables and ground plane and to extract the partial parameters of resistors, capacitances and inductances forming the equivalent SPICE circuit. Adding or changing the decoupling capacitances in the equivalent SPICE circuit to make sure the impedance proper in the spectrum of signal cables.
