Abstract :
We present the results of an investigation of corona discharge, for a point cathode, in high pressure nitrogen gas (up to 10 MPa) and in liquid nitrogen. Electrical and transport parameters such as threshold voltage Us, apparent ionic mobility K, etc, are derived. We show that Us is mainly a function of fluid number density N and cathode tip radius rp. The existence of a discontinuity in Us values for very high fluid density (i.e. N>3 1021 cm-3) is discussed
