Abstract :
Results of diversity improvements on various paths are presented. Propagation tests were conducted on paths over land and water. Several antenna beam configurations were used to clarify improvements in received power obtained by using tilted-beam-, beam-width-, and space-diversity reception. In order to evaluate the diversity improvement, a three-ray model is derived. The results show that diversity improvement is clearly dependent on the path conditions. Thus, path conditions should be considered in order to achieve the best diversity improvement
