Abstract :
Geo-ontology is a newly risen research field in geospatial science. It was regarded as one of the most important research area in geospatial information science and digital earth. As the formal representation of geography cognition model or geography conceptual model, geo-ontology can support the description of geography concepts and semantic relationship of concept system well. Getting started with the abstraction of real geography world and geography cognition process, the concept and logical structure of geo-ontology was researched as well as formal expression, the geo-ontology model was built based on the theory of description logic. Finally, applications research in the field of land use was explored though the use of geo-ontology.
