Abstract
During the process of aircraft landing, the risk assessment of pilot control characteristics is always used to predict aircraft safety. This is one of the important methods to avoid pilot-aircraft adverse coupling. In order to keep the accuracy of the assessment result, this paper presents an improved method for defining the landing risk assessment using Safe Flight Area during approach. This area which links with the aircraft states is established and introduced in a control scheme using closed-loop pilot-aircraft system which is evaluated by flying qualities. The risk assessment results indicate the better performance of the new method with more accuracy and practicability in comparison with the traditional LSO subjective decisions.
