Abstract
Under the direction of digital forestry, taken Tahe forestry bureau in Heilongjiang, China as study area, spatial decisions support systems (SDSS) were established by the mode of Client/Server. The Client system of SDSS was established by Visual Basic 6.0 and MapObjects 2.4. As a result, its functions (displaying, cartography, dual-comprehensive querying of spatial and attribute data, GPS positioning, statistical analysis, updating resource data etc.) can be applied to resources analysis and management decision-making for the forest bureau. The server platform was developed by software of ArcGIS Server 9.3, NET Frame and ASP (Active Server Page) technology. The newest forest resources data would be conveniently browed and queried in internet. In the end, forest management applications were studied and analyzed. Thus, forestry department could conveniently and real-time acquire any kind of forestry production data they needed. At the same time, forest management and decision-making would be modernized.
