Abstract :
This paper discusses some opportunities which present themselves for antenna applications through the use of textured surface microwave wave PCBs. Such structures exhibit anisotropic surface propagation properties which can be exploited for far-field radiation control in resonant antenna structures as well as in the generation of leaky waves in frequency scanning antennas. In addition we show how such structures can be modified in order to provide a simple means for the realisation of an ultra-thin radar absorber material.
