Abstract :
This paper presents a robust nonlinear controller for force and position control of a linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) drive in extended region. An ideal backstepping controller is first designed based on adaptive backstepping control approach then the backstepping control and artificial neural network (ANN) are combined in order to design a robust nonlinear controller which is capable of preserving the drive system robustness subject to all parameter variation and uncertainties. The overall system stability is proved by Lyapunov theory. The validity of proposed controller is supported by computer simulation results.
