Abstract :
Several studies have demonstrated that the limited access to patient-related information during decision-making and the ineffective communication among patient and care team members, besides reducing efficacy and quality of health care, are important causes of medical errors. In this paper we describe our work on defining a framework for the electronic health records for physiotherapy based on smartphone apps for information management systems relevant to the job role, including storage, maintenance and accessing of information on amount, content and context of therapy, such as data on activity/inactivity of the users, upper and lower extremity kinetics and kinematics. These apps may contribute for improving the physiotherapy services.
