Abstract :
The performance of an antenna designed to work on a PCMCIA card with a wide frequency bandwidth is presented. The antenna uses two low profile elements that are fed via a single microstrip line. The overall height of the antenna was 8.5 mm and the base was 86 mm x 54 mm. A bandwidth of 2:1 was measured and the resulting radiation patterns are satisfactory across the band from 5 GHz to 10 GHz.
