Abstract
This paper presents a microstrip patch antenna integrated with complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) etched in the ground plane. It is demonstrated that the application of the resonating ring eliminates the higher order resonances harmonics associated with the original structure. Furthermore the return loss at resonance is improved by the inclusion of the CSRRs reaching 20 dB compared with 12 dB achieved by the original structure.
