Abstract :
An equivalent circuit representation of double spiral resonators is extracted and presented in this paper. All the electromagnetic phenomena associated with the operation of these resonators within arrays that support backward waves are described in terms of lumped elements and transmission line segments. The resulting equivalent circuit is validated through comparison with full-wave simulations and is employed for the analysis of backward-wave transmission lines.
