Abstract
In this paper, a simulation model of pedestrian flow based on geographical cellular automata, GCAP Model, is established. The GCAP Model takes the walking suitability of the roads into consideration, and uses six dynamic parameters to simplify tactically the decision-making process of pedestrians in their movements. The simulation results show that the model is quite sensitive to different road conditions and can produce emergent self-organization phenomena in pedestrian crowds.
