Abstract :
The mechanical properties of rocks can be continuously calculated with the help of theory of elastic mechanics and logging data (AC-sonic log, DEN-density log, CN-neutron log). A GIS administration system will be very helpful in running these data. This system applies the client/middle tier/server framework. It is composed of database, data access engine, purview control middleware and clients. Drawing layers are the basic spatial data unit. The 3D distribution of mechanical properties of rocks can be achieved underground by GIS visualization modules.
