Abstract
This paper explores, the need for ventilation of hydrogen gas and separation from arcing parts in electrical enclosures, construction guidelines and testing for ventilation, drawbacks in the use of venting tubes in un-vented enclosures, battery charging, wire sizing and insulation in light of high energy faults, wet cells vs. arrested electrolyte cells, and avoidance of thermal runaway hazards.
