ATM management. TMN X-interfaces: studies and experiments in Europe

This paper gives an overview on the work going on in Europe in the ATM network management area. Both theory and application will be taken into account, resulting respectively in specifications definition and in their validation and implementation. In the first sections the PanEuropean TMN Laboratory will be presented and described, the nest section will then focus on the co-operative management interface, Xcoop, located between systems managing networks belonging to different domains, presenting the existing specifications. Finally the methodology will be described that has been used to provide validated specifications together with how the PanEuropean TMN Laboratory is used for this purpose
