Abstract
A zero-voltage and zero-current switching full-bridge pulse width modulation (ZVZCS-FB-PWM) converter is proposed to improve the performance of existing converter with active clamp. The proposed converter can eliminate the switching loss of the active clamp switch. Efficiency is improved since the clamp switch operates at twice the converter switching frequency. The topology including the clamp circuit is very simple with minimum number of components. Main switches are still fully soft switched while the clamp switch turn on is under ZVZCS and turn off is ZVS. The principle of operation is explained and analyzed. The simulation results justify the converter analysis.
