Abstract
Induction motor is a high-efficiency machine, when working close to its rated operation point. However, at torques and/or speeds far from the rated values the efficiency is greatly reduced. Thus in light loads, motor flux should be reduced to improve efficiency using optimization methods. In this paper, an analytical efficiency optimizer for a vector-controlled induction motor drive with consideration of iron loss is simulated. Moreover, a fuzzy efficiency optimizer system is proposed, which uses a search method to find the optimum flux. Utilizing analytical method in fuzzy efficiency optimizer, a new method is proposed to speed up search process (by leading the search process closer to the target in the first step) and to adjust the optimizer system parameters. The drive system with the proposed efficiency optimization systems is simulated and its performance is investigated
