Abstract :
The HVDC with capacitor commutated converter (CCC-HVDC) is provided based on the Qinghai-Xizhang HVDC interconnection project with very weak receiving ac network. The CCC-HVDC scheme is evaluated using steady-state as well as transient analysis by electromagnetic transient simulation. The steady-state analysis indicates that the CCC-HVDC scheme is superior to the HVDC link. The transient analysis shows that CCC-HVDC scheme is more robust against a single phase remote fault, and is poorer against a three phase ac fault than the HVDC link.
