  • Abstract
This paper presents the performance evaluation in terms of bit error rate (BER) of coded networks with high spectral efficiency in the presence of co-channel interference on AWGN channels. The evaluated networks are encoded by trellis coded-modulation (TCM) and by turbo trellis coded-modulation (TTCM) schemes. The effects of co-channel interference is evaluated through Monte Carlo simulation, in scenarios where the system is affected by a dominant interferer that is synchronous to the target user. The results show the requirements of signal-to-interference (S/I) ratio to achieve a good performance, as well as the capacity of coded-modulation to mitigate the co-channel interference.
