Abstract :
A new NRD guide is proposed in which the circular dielectric waveguide is sandwiched between two parallel metal plates by a distance less than half a wavelength. An electric field integral equation method which includes both loss tangent of the dielectric material and conductor loss of the metal plates has been developed for analysis of the new structure. Characteristics of the circular NRD guide, including dispersion curves, single-mode operation bandwidth, and transmission loss, are discussed. Coupling coefficients of coupled circular NRD guide for several dielectric materials are also presented
