Abstract :
This paper presents a neural network controller for multi-level inverter based Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) for a multi-machine power system. The neural network controller is designed using back propagation network algorithm. Back Propagation algorithm is employed to update weights for the design of the proposed controller. The proposed neural network controller is capable of providing good dynamic performance compared to conventional Proportional - Integral (PI) controller. The simulation of neural network controller with a sample three area power system for various operating conditions is implemented in Matlab/Simulink platform.
