Abstract :
Reconstruction methods and error analyses of retrieving the dielectric constant by using radar scattering data are performed in the present work. Both flat surfaces and rough surfaces are considered, although in the latter case either the small perturbation model or the Kirchhoff model has to be assumed. In general, the reconstructed results are very sensitive to the measured data, and a theoretical guideline is provided for the scattering measurement to be carried out by choosing proper incident angles and inverse algorithms
