  • Abstract
Analysis of characteristics of smoothed-power output topology of stand-alone renewable power system (SARPS) is presented in this paper. To prolong the service life of battery, decrease maintenance cost and power loss of SARPS by realizing smoothed-power output supply, An electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) is paralleled with battery as a part of storage system, and connected by a bi-directional buck/boost compensation topology. The EDLC stores fluctuant component and compensate battery current through proposed topology and switch control. Whereas the changeful natural condition and initial power condition, an appointed fluctuant power condition as an example to analysis the validity of proposed method in simulation firstly and also be validated in later experiment example. Analyze the frequency characteristics and system transformation with same characteristic based on state-space average model. The design method for general smoothed-power supply system is also presented as follows. The obtained smoothed-power output of battery satisfied the criterion of smooth precision
