Abstract :
In this paper modeling and control of a two-input boost type dc-dc converter is presented. Discrete-time models of the converter are established for trailing-edge modulation. Digital single-loop current and voltage-mode controllers are then designed based on these discrete-time models. The digital current controller keeps limit on the power drawn from the weak source, while the digital voltage mode controller performs load voltage regulation together with load power distribution on the input sources. The proposed methodology and models are verified both in simulation and experiments. A 100 W, 50 kHz converter is considered here for concept validation. Simulation and experimental load distribution/ voltage regulation results are in close agreement each other.
