Questions of metrological support of fiber-optical systems

Growing rates of introduction of optical technologies lead to the increase of the quantity and kinds of the optical measuring equipment which is used in quality assurance and statuses fiber-optical data transmission systems. Development fiber-optical data transmission systems makes actual a problem of metrological support of the measurements of main parameters of system; the control over a status of an optical fibre is an integral part of work as the building organizations laying of optical fibre communication lines, and the enterprises of communication maintaining these communication lines. The state and problems of metrological support of the measurements in the field of data transmission systems and systems of communication are considered in the report. Different ways of solving these problems are analyzed.
