  • Abstract
Under the driving of global climate change and rapid urbanization, the occurrence of extreme storm surge events becomes more and more frequent, which leads to immense disaster risk for eastern coastal china. This study proposes a DPSR theory model to describe the coastal storm surge disaster risk system, simulates the flood routing under compounded scenarios, and the inundated depth and scope of the critical information is displayed at different times by using of DHI MIKE 21 hydrodynamic model, then food risk assessment and regionalization are developed based on Geographic Information System(GIS) technology, according to spatial distribution of population and land utilization information. The methodology was verified effectively by choosing Shanghai for empirical study. The results can provide the policy-making basis for local government in terms of flood control planning, risk control and emergency evacuation.
