  • Abstract
HJ-1 is the first small natural disaster monitoring satellite constellation in China, and has wide application for coastal water environment monitoring. Atmospheric correction is an important part of quantitative remote sensing, and the aerosol retrieval is the key factor for atmospheric correction including aerosol optical depth, and diffuse transmission. In this paper, a method using the clean water nearby and the MODIS data was applied to implement a more accurate atmospheric correction on the rectified HJ-1 CCD radiance image, and the result was compared with the filed coastal water spectrum and the result from the 6S model. It is illustrated that the method based on the clean water nearby and the MODIS data is especially practical with atmospheric correction of coastal water of HJ-1 CCD image.
