  • Abstract
    This paper addresses the equalization techniques in the electronic domain of distorted optical signals detected under incoherent transmission over ultra-high-speed optically amplified optical fiber systems. Amplitude, phase and frequency modulation formats employed for transmission under linear, nonlinear equalization as well as maximum likelihood sequence estimation are examined. Identification of effectiveness of equalization techniques for modulation formats is given.
