Abstract :
Primary results of developing a numerical electromagnetic code for researching a virtual cathode in the presence of plasma are presented. These results are a part of Project 1569 titled ´development of the group ion accelerator based on a plasma vircator and periodic magnetic field´ executed under an agreement with the Science and Technology Center of Ukraine. The description of an algorithm for a numerical simulation of a virtual cathode in a cylindrical drift chamber is adduced. The algorithm is implemented through a set of programs written in the C++ language. Numerical calculations were made for the upgraded Agat experimental facility; the results are presented in graphical form.
