Abstract :
Multimedia applications range from voice telephony to video on demand. Each application has very different bandwidth, switching, and traffic needs. This paper reviews typical cable TV architectures and basic communications system block diagrams. It defines the applications and explores the bandwidth resources needed to support a mix of these multimedia applications
