Abstract :
To illustrate the issues surrounding multimedia in the home, we choose a telecommuting application as being representative of the issues. Telecommuting is becoming a more popular option for companies who have to reduce commuting loss and for those who have limited office space. In this application a worker at home is connected with his office by video, audio, and by a computer network. Telephone and fax communication is usually included in the requirements. An illustration of the components of a video conferencing home set-up is included
