Abstract :
Pseudo-linear transmission of short pulse OTDM signals has enabled transmission of high bit-rate OTDM signals over optical fiber that has nonzero-dispersion. Using standard dispersion compensation techniques, a typical terrestrial amplifier spacing (80-100 km) can be realized and long distance transmission at 160 and 320 Gbit/s is demonstrated. Dispersion trimming devices such as chirped FBG show potential and necessary application in these systems as they move from laboratory to the field
