Abstract
For the third generation mobile systems, the benefit of locally centralized architectures for resource allocation and management should be investigated in the micro-cellular environment. In this paper the concept of bunch as a group of cells strongly interconnected is studied. An interference-matrix based scheme (i.e. best packing strategy) for resource allocation is used. Its performance is evaluated through simulations and a comparison with a classical fixed channel allocation strategy is presented
