Abstract
Laser vibrometry based on coherent detection techniques allows to measure vibration characteristics of objects due to the high Doppler resolution. Examples for applications in the field of defense and security such as target classification and identification including camouflaged or partly concealed targets as well as the detection of buried land mines are presented.
