Abstract :
This paper discusses a research project that employs computational intelligence (CI) to improve the ability of military planners to route sensors and weapons to effectively engage mobile targets. Future target motion is predicted through the use of multiple software agents employing goal oriented action planning (GOAP). Derived from the Stanford Research Institute Planning System (STRIPS), GOAP is a relatively new class of CI that is ideally suited to dynamic real-time environments such as military operations. The project is unusual in its adaptation of computer gaming industry technology for use in real-time, tactical military applications
