Abstract
This paper presents a performance study for the effects of attenuation and interference on cellular mobile systems. UAE terrain examples are chosen to perform the numerical analysis and simulation which is based on Okumura-Hata and ITU-1546 propagation models. Simulation results presented demonstrate the effect of different terrain on the field strength, as well as the effect of co-channel and adjacent channel interference. Results of this paper are helpful in the successful design of cellular mobile systems.
