Abstract :
This paper presents a robust fractal modulation scheme which is suitable for signal transmission over wireless channels. Recent work has suggested fractal modulation with BPSK, QPSK and QAM symbols. As a novelty, we proposed the fractal modulation with differential encoded data. It allows differential decoding, which is accomplished using differentially coherent detection. We used data which are equivalent to the symbols of pi/4-DQPSK modulation. Carrier synchronization is not needed at the receiver in that case. Mobile channels were simulated like Rayleigh flat fading channels and frequency selective channels
