Abstract :
This article firstly analyzes the shortage status of the network address based on traditional IPV4 technology, and this status expresses great need for IPV6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) development. It then interprets and illustrates the technical principles of IPV6 and demonstrates the unique advantages of IPV6 by the comparison between IPV6 and IPV4. The most importantly it gives the program of the IPV6 network communication program based on the Windows XP operating platform with VC++ 6.0. Finally it looks ahead the prospect of IPV6 protocol applications.
