Microwave dielectric relaxation in chemical industries solvents

Abstract :
In this paper microwave dielectric relaxation times of cellosolves in dilute solutions of carbon tetrachloride are reported. These have been calculated using Higasi\´s equations by measurement of permittivity ε\´ and dielectric loss ε" at 9.83 GHz. It is observed that average relaxation time τ0 and relaxation time for overall rotation τ1 both increases while relaxation time τ2 for group rotation decreases with the increase in molecular size. These results have been compared with earlier relaxation data in benzene solutions and pure liquid state and discussed
