  • Abstract
    This paper presents a new 3-level high-frequency transformer isolated single-stage AC-to-DC converter which realizes power factor correction and output voltage regulation in a single-stage power conversion. This converter configuration is obtained by integrating a 3-level boost converter and a 3-level zero-voltage switching (ZVS) DC-DC converter with capacitive output filter. The operation principle, analysis, parameter design are discussed and simulation results for a design example of 1 kW, 420 V output with a switching frequency of 100 kHz and operating on 165-265 V (rms) input voltage are presented to verify the operation of the converter
