Abstract :
A unification technique is proposed for online and offline test of digital filters to reduce area overhead of testing by sharing the offline and online resources. Performance, area and fault detection capability of the proposed technique is also discussed. The area overhead is invariant with the size of the main system and also near 100% fault detection capability is achieved for FIR and IIR case studies. Fault vulnerabilities of FIR and IIR filters are also compared.
