Abstract :
At high efficiency, an inductor´s electromagnetic emission will cause power loss and circuit instability. In this paper, a new type of high frequency class E amplifier is introduced with coaxial line components. Short coaxial lines are used as inductors because of their merits over coil and spiral inductors at high frequency. With coaxial lines and a switch, this kind of lumped-distributed circuit is simulated by a newly developed time-domain method. To calculate the power loss in the transistor and the collector efficiency, a time-domain switch resistor model is used whose transient resistance is determined from the I-V characteristics of the transistor
