After careful and considered review of the content and authorship of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE\´s Publication Principles.
This paper is a duplication of the original text from research by Dr. Xian Liu which was unpublished at that time. The original text was copied without attribution (including appropriate references to the original author) and without permission.
Due to the nature of this violation, reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper, and future references should be made to the following article:
"An Approach to Reduce the Erlang B Probability of the M/M/2/2 system"
by Xian Liu,
In Proceedings of the Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005. Vol 1, page 5In this paper, we showed that the performance of the M/M/2/2 system can be improved by replacing its homogeneous servers with heterogeneous servers. Denoting by beta the ratio of the slow service rate to the fast service rate, we showed that there exists a range of beta within which the Erlang B probability is reduced. We also showed that there exists an optimal beta at which the Erlang B probability reaches its minimum
