Abstract :
This work aims at detecting the corrosion susceptibility of titanium (Ti) exposed in various simulated artificial saliva. Complementary methods such as infrared analysis (IR) and atomic absorption spectroscopy have been used in order to put in evidence the products formed on the surface of metallic biomaterials and the ion release indentification respectively. A Medcalc Programme devoted to medical applications was the instrument for the statistical treatment and the chance to do a prognosis of the biomaterial behaviour for a long term.
